Go-Kart Chain Drive:
Tired of breaking expensive drive belts?

FPX 520 drive system chain is the new choice
for concession go-karts, where a combination
of long life, high strength, and excellent impact
load resistance are very important.
O-Ring chain was designed in the 1980’s.
Rubber rings have solved what was the chain
maker's biggest headache for many years: Loss
of lubricant. The load bearing pins and
bushings that enable a chain to bend over a
sprocket have very little precious oil to keep
them happy. As if that wasn't enough, high
centrifugal forces that occur when the chain
turns around the drive sprocket throws away the
oil. "The only reason for chain wear is the loss
of lubricant". The advent of the O-ring chain
enabled the chain to keep its oil inside and stay
lubricated were it counts for long periods.
Which in return extends chain life significantly.

The new chain drive is a direct replacement of the belt drive system.

Chain Drive Advantages
· 520 o-ring chain are designed for 1000cc (100hp motorcycles)
· High impact resistance
· Operates in hostel environments (typical go-kart tracks)
· No slippage
· Less stress on clutch and axle bearings. Contrast to belt drive karts that need to be tensioned
very tight, chain drive karts run little freeplay which improves life of both the drive system
bearings and clutch.
· Negligible stretch, allowing chains to carry heavy loads
· 1 Year warranty against chain breakage
MAINTENANCE - Sealed-ring Chains
There are only three things you need to do to regularly maintain a modern sealed-ring chain:
· Clean it of debris (sand, dirt, grime)
· Lubricate the exterior (oil or wax)
· Adjust it for elongation (not too tight!)
